Planning a safari shouldn't feel like a part-time job. Here's exactly what happens from your first click to your first game drive.
1. Browse & customize your itinerary
Start with one of our available itineraries and make it yours — choose your travel dates, group size, accommodation level, guide preference, and any add-on activities. You'll see a real-time price estimate update as you go.2. Submit your trip request
When you're happy with your selections, submit your request. This is not an instant booking — it doesn’t work that way for a country like Uganda. We'll review your preferences and reach out to our Uganda partners to check availability for your specific dates, guide, lodges, and permits.3. We coordinate everything
Within 2–3 business days, we confirm availability with our on-the-ground partners and come back to you with a finalized itinerary and confirmed pricing. If anything isn't available, we'll offer alternatives.4. Confirm & pay your deposit
Once you approve the itinerary, you'll pay a deposit securely by credit card, Zelle, or ACH transfer — no international wire transfers or using Africa’s unreliable version of Paypal. The remaining balance is paid in cash on arrival in Uganda in USD.5. We do the warm handoff
The day before your trip, we'll connect you directly with your guide via WhatsApp so you arrive knowing exactly who to look for at the airport.6. You show up and enjoy
Your guide handles everything from there — transfers, game drives, permits, lodging check-ins, and any surprises along the way! -
Real-time availability doesn't exist for Uganda trips the way it does for hotels or flights in most parts of the world. Gorilla trekking permits, specific lodges, and individual guides all need to be manually confirmed with our partners in Uganda. We move as fast as we can (typically 2–3 business days) and we'll always come back to you with either a confirmation or alternatives.

We work exclusively with licensed, vetted tour operators certified by the Uganda Tourism Board. Your guide will have years of experience in Uganda's national parks. We only work with partners we've personally vetted. We’ll share the Ugandan company and guide that will host your tour when we confirm your request!

Refund and cancellation policies vary by itinerary and how close to the departure date you cancel. We'll share the specific policy with you before you pay anything.

This is standard practice for Uganda safaris. Your guide will provide the exact amount and the accepted currencies (USD is widely used) before your trip. We'll make sure you're prepared well in advance. If you prefer not to travel with cash, we’re happy to process the full payment upfront so that you are all set.

Yes — you can indicate a guide preference when building your itinerary and we'll do our best to honor it. That said, guide availability can't be guaranteed until we confirm with our partners. And, even then, your guide is always subject to change if something comes up in their personal life and they become unavailable.
